Pedestrian Killed in Milton Accident Thursday Night

An accident on Randolph Avenue in Milton resulted in the death of a Randolph man.

The following information is from Milton Police Chief Richard Wells, Jr.

This evening at 6:22 pm, Milton Police Communications received several 911 calls for a pedestrian struck on Randolph Ave. near Heather Drive. (930 Randolph Ave.)

First officers on scene discovered a male victim lying on the southbound side of the (4) lane state roadway (Rte. 28). The victim, a 75 year old male, had serious injuries and was in traumatic arrest. He was transported by Paramedics to BI Deaconess Milton. He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. The victim is a Randolph resident.

The accident scene remains under investigation at this time. There are no crosswalks or stop indicators at the location of the accident. Preliminary investigation does not indicate that speed is a causal factor. Witnesses describe the victim as attempting to cross from the northbound side when he was struck. State Police have dispatched a reconstructionist to assist with the investigation and the District Attorney’s office has been notified. We are withholding the victim’s identity, pending notification of his family.
