State Police Investigating Late Night Fatal Crash in Milton

A Milton man was killed in a single-car crash Thursday night.

At 11:35 on Thursday night troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a single-car crash on Truman Parkway in Milton that claimed the life of the driver.

Responding patrols found the driver trapped inside the 1992 Lexus LS-400 he was driving. Boston Fire extricated the victim and Boston EMS transported him to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. He was identified as Darner Alteon, 20, of Milton. The car had no other occupants.

Preliminary investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, indicates that the Lexus was travelling north on Truman Parkway through a slight right curve, approaching the area of #480, when it went out of control.

Preliminary investigation indicates the car spun and skidded from the right travel lane through the left lane and off the roadway onto the dirt median strip. The Lexus continued to slide across the median until its right front door struck a tree. The impact caused the car to rotate around the tree and come to final rest straddling the median.

Troopers are investigating excessive speed as a potential factor in the crash.
