Victim Identified in Houghton's Pond Drowning

Witness Lina Disabatino said that she saw the man swimming and then he just disappeared under the water.

The 32-year-old man who drowned Monday night at Houghton's Pond in Milton has been identified as Jesus Mancia-Sola of East Boston.

Mancia-Sola was swimming outside of the roped-in area designated for swimmers after the lifeguards had left for the day when his family saw him struggle under the water and not re-surface, Norfolk County District Attorney spokesman Mike Connolly said Tuesday evening.

The drowning happened at about 7:20 p.m. and Mancia-Sola's body was recovered at approximately 10 p.m. Milton firefighters as well as divers and a helicopter from the State Police assisted in the search Monday night.
