MassWorks Grants $1 Million to Improve Milton Villages

A $1 million state grant will support housing and retail between the Central Avenue and Milton trolley stops.

MassWorks, a program that provides state grants to improve infrastructure in Massachusetts, will provide $1 million to make streetscape upgrades to unite the Milton Villages between the Central Avenue and Milton trolley stations.

The Patrick-Murray Administration awarded the $38 million in MassWorks grants for 26 projects on Friday.

“The MassWorks program is a key part of our growth strategy of investing in education, innovation and infrastructure to create jobs and spur economic development,” said Governor Deval Patrick in a press release. “By partnering with municipalities, these MassWorks projects will strengthen communities for generations to come.”
