Milton 350th Anniversary Marked by Flag Over Capitol

An American flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol Building was presented to the Town of Milton by Congressman Stephen F. Lynch.

U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch greeted Town Meeting members before Monday’s annual fall meeting. Besides providing a brief legislative update, Lynch presented the town with an American flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol.

Lynch presented the town a flag that flew over the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. on October 17, 2012.

The flying of the flag recognized the Town of Milton’s 350th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year.

Lynch said he missed Milton’s 350th celebration weekend and parade this summer because he was visiting U.S. troops abroad.

The milestone, according to Lynch, was particularly impressive to many in Washington as 350 years since incorporation is unheard of in most of the country.
