Milton Selectmen Secure Town Administrator Search Timeline

The Board of Selectmen interviewed four candidates for the vacant Town Administrator position on Monday night.

After seven months, the Milton Town Administrator search has a likely end date. The Selectmen interviewed four finalists on Monday, February 25, and plan to select a new administrator at their March 7 meeting.

The Board of Selectmen conducted four, 45-minute interviews, in the Milton Access Cable Studios on Monday and decided to hold a full discussion at their next meeting this Thursday.

Chair Tom Hurley proposed that the Selectmen try to narrow the candidates down to two on Thursday and make a final decision next month.

The other two Selectmen were in favor of the suggestion, especially Selectman Bob Sweeney, who said the search process has already been too long.

"I think it's time for us to digest what we heard tonight and come forward with a nominee," said Sweeney.

The 40-candidate pool was narrowed down to 12 by the Selectmen-appointed search committee. The four finalists were among 12 people interviewed by the committee.
