Nomination Papers Now Available for 2014 Town Election

The Milton Town Election is set for April 29, 2014.

Nomination papers are now available for the April, 29, Milton Town Election.

All town wide candidates, both incumbents and challengers, must obtain a minimum of 50 signatures from registered voters. Non-incumbent

Town Meeting candidates must obtain 10 signatures from voters in their precinct. Incumbent Town Meeting members must return the post card sent to them by March 4 to run for reelection.

All candidates must return their nomination papers to the Board of Registrars at the Office of the Town Clerk by Tuesday, March 11.

The available positions are listed below:

Town Wide Offices:

  •  One SELECTMAN and SURVEYOR OF THE HIGHWAY for a term of three years
  •  A TOWN TREASURER for a term of one year
  • One ASSESSOR for a term of three years
  • Two SCHOOL COMMITTEE members for a term of three years
  • One PARK COMMISSIONER for a term of three years
  • One Member of the BOARD of HEALTH for a term of three years
  • One Member of the BOARD of HEALTH for a term of one year
  • Three TRUSTEES of the PUBLIC LIBRARY for a term of three years
  • One HOUSING AUTHORITY for a term of five years
  • One TRUSTEE of the CEMETERY for a term of five years
  • One PLANNING BOARD member for a term of five years
Representative Town Meeting Member
  • Precinct One: Nine for a term of three years, One for a term of one year (to fill a vacancy)
  • Precinct Two: Ten for a term of three years
  • Precinct Three: Ten for a term of three years
  • Precinct Four: Nine for a term of three years
  • Precinct Five: Seven for a term of three years, One for a term of two years (to fill a vacancy)
  • Precinct Six: Ten for a term of three years
  • Precinct Seven: Nine for a term of three years
  • Precinct Eight Ten for a term of three years
  • Precinct Nine: Ten for a term of three years, One for a term of two years (to fill a vacancy)
