Report: Morrissey Experienced 'Fainting Spell' Just Before Milton Accident

Morrissey had just left his Canton office this week and was traveling to his home in Quincy when his vehicle collided with two other vehicles.

In the video above from Channel 5, Janet Wu reports that an unnamed source close to Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey said that he experienced a fainting spell after coming off a red-eye flight the night before his accident in Milton Tuesday.

Wu also said Morrissey skipped lunch that day and did not drink enough water.

Morrissey said in a statement Thursday that he lost consciousness because of fatigue, dehydration and extreme temperatures just before the crash Tuesday evening on Centre Street.

"On my doctor’s advice, I plan to take some time off to recuperate," Morrissey said.

Wu reported that time off could be up to a week.
