Trailside Museum Earns DCR Matching Funds Grant

The Department of Conservation and Recreations awarded an $175,000 matching funds grant to Mass Audubon for education at Milton's Trailside Museum.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation recently announced a matching funds grant of $175,000 for the in Milton.

The money will fund environmental education programs and materials for summer camps, school groups and park visitors.

The DCR will match funds with Mass Audubon.

“DCR has an on-going commitment to improving and enriching the natural, cultural and recreational opportunities available to state park users,” said DCR Commissioner Ed Lambert after the press conference. “The Partnerships Matching Funds Program recognizes the tremendous value of partnership for DCR. The grants enable projects that enrich the visitor experience and improve quality of life for residents of Massachusetts.”

State Senator and Milton resident Brian A. Joyce attended the press conference during which Lambert announced the grants.

The Trailside Museum in Milton and the Borderland State Park in North Easton and Sharon are both part of Joyce’s district.

“These grants are a testament to the hard work of residents throughout the area that advocate on behalf of some of the tremendous recreational opportunities available in our community,” said Joyce.
