With two wins over Archbishop Williams during the regular season was looking to increase the streak with a win in the preliminary round of the MIAA Girls Division 2 Hockey Tournament. The game was played at the Joseph J. Zapustas Rink in Randolph, on Tuesday, February 28.
But Bishops would ruin the Ducks season and make a surprise comeback sending the Ducks home with a loss 3-2.
The Bishops got on the board first with a 1-0 lead after the first period, but the Ducks came right back scoring two goals in the second period, taking the lead 2-1. Before the period was over the Bishops would score again tying the game 2-2.
Early in the third period the Bishops got a goal by the Ducks first-year goalie Carli Gavin and take the lead 3-2.
There would be several chances near the end of the game for the Ducks to score, but the Bishops' goalie, Ashley Dallaire, would not cooperate, stopping all shots.
In the end the Bishops were not going to be denied the hard fought win over the Ducks and moved on in the tournament with a date on Friday against last year's state champs, Duxbury.
