The Milton Lady Wildcats basketball team put on an exciting show against the Wamps of Braintree on Tuesday, January 3. In the end, the game would go to Braintree 71-40, but Milton continues to show overall improvement since the season began.
During the first half Milton (1-4) stayed right with Bay State Conference-leading, undefeated Wamps (5-0). Milton missed their two captains, Katie Krauss and Samantha Curley, who are nursing injuries.
Throughout the second half the Wamps kept the pressure on as their top scorer, Paige Marshall (14 points), and the Wamps pulled away from the Wildcats.
"We are playing so much better since the start of the season. This team never gave up - we were up against a better team tonight. Braintree is really playing well," said Milton Coach Bill Donovan.
Milton's leading scorers for the night were Nicole Regan (14 points), Margret Corcoran (8 points) and Dilanna Morrison (7 points).
Samantha Curley expects to be back in the line-up for their next game against Newton North at home on Friday.
