Milton Legion Defeats Needham 5-3

It would come down to the third game of American Legion District 6 playoffs. Milton Post 114 and Needham Post 14 both had a win and Friday night's game win would move the winner to the South Sectional Tournament.

After losing the first game 11-1 to Needham, Milton came within 3 outs of being eliminated in the second game before winning the game 5-4 . 

At the start of the fourth inning in the third game, Milton was holding the lead 4-0. But Needham wasn’t done as they hit a three-run homer to pull within one run of tying the game.

In the fifth, Milton’s Willie Archibald would triple and scored when Tyler Starks brought him in with a single giving Milton the lead 5-3.

Archibald’s pitching would shut the door as he retired the next six Needham batters in the final two innings to secure the win 5-3.
