Wildcats Boys Basketball wins Home Opener

The Milton High School boys basketball team defeated Hingham on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2012 the Milton Wildcats played host to the Hingham Harbormen and kicked off the 2012-2013 basketball season and looking to improve their 4-16 record of last year.

The Harbormen, who were second best in their league last year, jumped to an early lead of 7-1 before Milton Coach Sean Lopresti pulled his team aside trying to settle them down.

The Wildcats returned to the floor and increased the pace of the game and suddenly were up 10-8 and by the half they took a 25-21 lead into the locker room.

Led by Captain’s AJ Flanagan ( 7 points ) and Tyler Greene ( 7 points ) the Wildcats controlled the ball in the second half, never letting the Harbormen back into the game. Senior guard Jonge DaSilva would lead the Wildcats in scoring with 11 points.

“Walking away with a win in the first game is always a good thing, said Coach Lopresti. We have a lot of inexperienced players at the varsity level - it takes awhile to adjust. We‘ll take the win.”
