Five Milton High Students Chosen for Neponset Valley Leadership Institute

Bank of Canton continues to support the community with a $1,000 donation to the Neponset Valley Leadership Institute.

The Neponset Valley Leadership Institute (NVLI) has embarked on its twelfth year of providing a life-changing experience for local high school students.  Chosen from Milton High School were:  Tyler McMurray, Gustavo Arnal, Brandon Musto, Susan Fitzgerald, Kiannah Bernard

Thanks to the support of partners like Bank of Canton, 32 rising juniors and seniors were engaged and challenged together to learn about leadership’s many aspects from influential leaders in the public, private and non-profit sectors.  Students were selected, each with a full scholarship, from School to Careers Partnership High Schools:  Avon, Blue Hills Regional, Canton, Dedham, Holbrook, Milton, Norwood, and Randolph High Schools.

“Bank of Canton was one of our earliest and most enthusiastic community partners to date, and we appreciate both the financial support and their belief in our program,” said Katherine Touafek, Director, The School to Careers Partnership.

“Students are our future leaders in every aspect of life,” said Stephen P. Costello, President, Bank of Canton.  “Investing in their potential through the Neponset Valley Leadership Institute will reap benefits throughout the community.”

Students made on-site visits to the Boston Federal Reserve Bank, MA State House Legislators, MEDI-TECH, Dunkin’ Brands, and the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club in late June over a four-day period.  They presented what they gained from their experiences to parents, business leaders and legislators on the final day of the program.

Founded in 1835, Bank of Canton supports a wide range of nonprofit organizations throughout the Canton area.
