St. Agatha’s Welcomes Students
Students in grades 1-8 at enjoyed a soggy but spirited first day on Wednesday, September 7. Easing into the year with a half-day of classes, the students will be joined by Pre-K and kindergartners on Tuesday, September 12.
Online Library for Tucker Students
Last spring, kindergarten teacher Elizabeth Spitz was awarded a grant from the Milton Foundation for Education to provide Tucker students with access to the TumbleBooks Online Library. TumbleBooks is an online library of talking picture books, which are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books. The result is an electronic picture book which students can read, or have read to them. The program is in English, French and Spanish, and is available to all Tucker students.
Kindergartners Off and Running
The first day of kindergarten for the Milton Public Schools was Tuesday, September 6. The Tucker PTO sponsored a “Boo-hoo! Yahoo!” coffee hour that morning for kindergarten parents who dropped their little ones off for the first time.

Registration for Milton Public Schools Adult Education classes will be on September 21 and 22 at . Classes begin on September 26; click here for the fall brochure.
Open house nights for the Milton Public Schools will be as follows:
9/13 9/15 Milton High School
9/22 Tucker Elementary
Bus Woes Continue for Elementary Schools
The afternoon elementary buses were again delayed on Tuesday, but it wasn’t due to this time. MPS transportation director Pam Dorsey wrote in an email to parents that a fire alarm went off just prior to dismissal at Collicot/Cunningham. The building was evacuated and after the Milton Fire Department cleared the building, students returned to their classrooms for dismissal. The resulting delays in dismissal and further delays for students riding the bus home from Collicot/Cunningham delayed the Glover/Tucker routes, which are run by the same buses.
“Curry Up and Go!” Opportunities
