MHS Music Department Awards Ceremony Recognizes Musicians

A celebration to mark the end of another successful year for the Milton High music department took place May 19 at the high school with a pizza dinner sponsored by FAME (Friends and advocates for music education) and followed by an awards ceremony.

In attendance were members of the high school band, jazz band, string ensembles and choruses.

During the awards ceremony, the high school music faculty comprised by Dr. Noreen Burdett, Gary Good, Rebecca Damiani and Antonio Burdugo, recognized contributions by numerous students, as well as paid special tribute to all the seniors who they’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Among notable awards given out that evening, include:

  • National Choral Award: Christian Urbina
  • FAME Award for Chorus: Giuliana Giddings
  • National Orchestra Award: Olivia Done
  • FAME Award for String Ensemble: Camille Carpenter
