Milton Academy Holds Physical Defense Training Course

This week, Milton Academy offered a three-day course for Rape Aggression Defense System instructors.

Twenty-one trainees entered a program at this week with the hopes of becoming certified as R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) System instructors.

“R.A.D. System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques for women,” said Erin Hoodlet, Milton Academy Communications. “It is a comprehensive program that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training."

Certified R.A.D. instructors taught the three-day course at the Kellner Performing Arts Center on the Milton Academy campus. The training program was held from Monday through Wednesday, this week.
