Milton Academy Student Wins National Speaking Award

Marshall M. Sloane II won the impromptu division at a recent National Junior Forensic League event.

A Milton teen earned the top prize at the recent National Junior Forensic League in Indianapolis.

Marshall M. Sloane II, a 13-year-old student, won the impromptu speech division at the national competition, according to the Boston Herald.

Sloane told the Herald her relied on his acting experience during his award-winning speech.

“In and of itself, it’s expressing an idea to an audience, whether it’s in public speaking or acting,” he said.
