Milton Public Schools Will Be Open Tuesday

Superintendent Mary Gormley announced Monday night that school will be in session on Tuesday, October 30.

After being closed Monday due to inclement weather, the Milton Public Schools will likely be open on Tuesday, October 30, as the region recovers from Hurricane Sandy.

Superintendent Mary Gormley announced that the district would hold classes Tuesday via http://blog.miltonps.org/ on Monday night.

Earlier today, Gormley said the decision to open or close the schools was would be made based on consultation with Police Chief Richard Wells and DPW Director Joe Lynch.

As the storm, which is still bringing rain and wind to the area, continues overnight, the decision could be reversed.

“Given the possibility of future power outages or storm damage I would encourage all families to check their phone/email/TV/radio in the morning before sending your children to school,” said Gormley.
