Milton High Boys Soccer’s Mike Madden Named Coach of the Year

The Wildcats head coach was honored after his team appeared in its third consecutive MIAA state sectional tournament.

After a 10-win Bay State League season and a first round MIAA postseason win, Milton High School boys soccer coach Mike Madden was named one of the Eastern Massachusetts Coaches of the Year.

Madden earned the honor for the Division 2 South category after leading the Wildcats to a third straight MIAA state sectional tournament. Milton High, 20th seed, upset 13th-ranked Norwell High School in the first round of this year’s tournament before falling to fourth-seeded Hingham in the second round.

The Wildcats went 5-1 this season against other Division 2 opponents. Hingham was the only D2 team to defeat Milton.
