Milton Mustangs Football in Full Swing
The Milton Mustangs varsity and junior varsity squads have gotten off to a solid start this season.
It is officially football season in Milton. The is preparing for its third week on the gridiron, as is the Milton Mustangs varsity and junior varsity teams. Below is a recap from the first two weeks of the Mustangs’ season provided by Jennifer Tegan,
The Milton Mustangs Youth Football varsity squad came out firing on all cylinders the first game on September 11, 2011 against the Squantum Storm, putting up 28 points while shutting down the Storm’s offense and holding them scoreless. The defense held the line and consistently forced Squantum to turn the ball over on downs.
The second week of the season was rivalry week against West Quincy Elks. Both teams came out swinging with big plays made by both offense and defense. The Elks would score a touchdown and the Mustangs would answer with a touchdown, but the clock ran out on the Mustangs with the final score of 26-25 for the Elks.

The JV football team is off to an equally great start this season going 2-0 against the Squantum Storm and the West Quincy Elks. A great defensive effort in week 1, led to a 16-0 shutout of the Squantum Storm. Week 2 saw the offense take over in 30-14 route of the West Quincy Elks.
