Milton Teams Earn MIAA Tournament Bids

Hockey and basketball teams from Milton High School and Fontbonne Academy will participate in the MIAA tournaments that begin this week.

Fonbonne Academy and Milton High Square off in Girls Hockey

The girls hockey teams from Fontbonne Academy and Milton High School will face off in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Tournament on Tuesday, February 26.

Fontbonne Academy is the 14th seed, while Milton High earned a 19th seed in the tournament. The game will be held at Shea Rink, 651 Willard Street, Quincy, at 4 p.m.

The winner of this contest will play third-seeded Wellesley.

Milton High Boys to Play English

A year after playing for a state title, the Milton High School boys hockey team will host English on Tuesday, February 26, in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Tournament.

The Wildcats, a 15th seed, will take on the 18th-seeded English team at 7 p.m. at the Copeland Field House.

The winner of this game will visit Dennis-Yarmouth on Thursday for a first round contest at 7 p.m.

Fontbonne Basketball  Earn Bye

The fifth-seeded Fontbonne Academy girls basketball team will have a bye in the preliminary  round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Tournament. 

Their tournament will start on Thursday, February 27, against Sharon, a 12-seed, at Quincy. The first round showdown will be held at 7 p.m.

The winner of this game will play the winner of Duxbury and Hopkinton on March 1.
