Cool Summer Fest Scheduled at Houghton's Pond This Month
Celebrate summer and beat the heat with the Houghton's Pond event July 27.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation, Friends of the Blue Hills, Blue Hills Bank, and Mass Wildlife are sponsoring Cool Summer Fest, an event at Houghton's Pond Saturday, July 27.
The free event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features wacky water games, music and family entertainment, an inflatable obstacle course, make and take kids crafts, live wildlife from Trailside Museum, pond exploration, free fishing fun with Mass Wildlife and more, according to a press release from the Friends of the Blue Hills.
There will also be free equipment loans for fishing or bring your own rod and reel.

Directions: Take Rt. 93 to exit 3 and follow Cool Summer Fest signs to DCR Houghton’s Pond Recreation Area at 840 Hillside Street in Milton. Activities will be at Picnic Site 5.
