Second Annual Fit for Life Walk/Run Set for October 6

The Council on Aging's Second Annual Fit for Life Walk/Run will benefit its van program.

The Friends of the are pleased to announce that the Second Annual Fit for Life Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, October 6 through the streets of Milton. The event will start with registration at the Senior Center at 8 a.m. followed by the start of the race at 9 a.m.

Registration is just $25 and includes a t-shirt, refreshments and more.  This year, we will also have a great raffle at the event or you can purchase tickets in advance at the Senior Center.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the van fund here at the COA. As an added incentive, participants will have the opportunity to secure pledges for themselves and we will have sheets available when you register. There will also be a grand prize for the person who raises the most money.

Please note that you can register at any time or on the day of the event. It is open to all ages and we will even have a special “senior” walking route around the COA parking lot. So there will be something for everyone.

Each year we see more and more seniors who are not able to drive anymore and our van service is their life-line.  Unfortunately, we do not receive enough funding from the town to sustain the program so we need to fundraise and this is our big event for the year.
