Who from Milton is Riding in the 2013 Pan-Mass Challenge?

The 34th Annual Pan-Mass Challenge will take place Aug. 3-4.

When the 34th Pan-Massachusetts Challenge takes place today and tomorrow, more than 30 Milton residents are scheduled to be on their bikes and taking part.

About 10,000 cyclists and volunteers will take part in the 34th annual event, which is "the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event, raising and contributing more money to charity than any other," according to a press release from Pan-Mass Challenge.

The goal of this year's ride is to raise $38 million to support adult and pediatric cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.

Riders in the Pan-Mass Challenge range from age 13-88 and have a variety of athletic training to their experience. According to a press release, more than 300 riders are cancer survivors of current patients themselves.
