The Boston Minuteman Council is the organization which runs the area Boy Scouts of America groups. It serves groups from Bedford down to Quincy, within three main districts: Flintlock (north); Sons of Liberty (around Cambridge); Great Blue Hill (Boston and south). The council maintains outdoor programs and camping facilities and keeps up with the progress of area scouts. This year, 2010, marks the 100th anniversary of the council; they are celebrating by sponsoring special merit badges as well as fun activities and historical programs.
