Since 1904, the Milton Historical Society has been preserving the physical and descriptive history of the town, which itself was settled in 1636. The building that houses the society is an official national historic place and features different types of live entertainment and open houses throughout the year. According to the society, the space has been home to five Massachusetts governors, one U.S. president, and is the location of the nation's first commercial railroad.
