Should OUI Alcohol Limit Be Lowered To 0.05 Percent?

The National Transportation Safety Board recommends reducing the limit. Some say it would save lives. Others say it's unreasonable.

One drink could be the standard for drunken driving – at least for some people if the National Transporation Safety Board has its way.  On Tuesday, the NTSB recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. What do you think? Is the proposal reasonable? About 10,000 deaths a year are related to drunken driving. The NTSB says the lower limit would save 500 to 800 lives a year. Officials at the American Beverage Institute called the proposal "ludicrous." It said the average woman could reach the 0.05 percent limit by having one drink. There were 114 DUI fatalities in Massachusetts in 2012, which were 34 percent of traffic-related fatalities last year, according to Mothers …

Alcohol is poison. Just kidding. That is just plain stupid, but this is Stupidchusetts and we lead the country in stupid laws that are for the most part, unenforced. Mandatory one year sentence for "Anyone" carrying a gun without a proper permit. That started 20 years ago. Only 3 have been sent to jail for it. No working on Sundays. No alcohol sold on Sundays. Fire Warning Issued for Thursday

Winds are expected to pick up to at least 30 mph in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service is warning of the potential for brush fires in the area Thursday afternoon and night.  Counties across Eastern and Central Massachusetts and Rhode Island are under the fire warning. Winds are expected to pick up to at least 30 mph in the afternoon. The wind coupled with “low relative humidities” will cause the risk of fire, according to the NWS.

HIngham Police Say Milton Man and Girlfriend Targeted Hingham Neighborhood to Steal Valuables

Police said Patrick Graney, age 26, of Milton allegedly entered six unlocked vehicles on Bradley Hill Road and stole electronics, money and jewelry.

HINGHAM:  Police believe a Milton man and Quincy woman targeted a Hingham neighborhood early Sunday morning to steal valuables from unlocked vehicles.  Police said Patrick Graney, age 26, of Milton allegedly entered six unlocked vehicles on Bradley Hill Road and stole  an iPod, GPS units, head phones, various phone chargers, greeting cards, a watch, a silver claddagh ring and $24 cash. Police were called to neighborhood at 1:47 a.m. Sunday after a resident was awoken by his barking dog, according to Hingham Police Sgt. Steven Dearth.  When the resident looked outside he spotted Graney, who fled the area, Dearth said.
