Editor's Notebook: Patch Celebrates its 100th Site Launch
While Patch has hit its 100th site nationally, Milton Patch takes a look back at the last three months since our launch.
Just moments ago, Morristown, NJ became the 100th Patch to launch across the country. Today is a significant day for Patch, but it is also significant for Milton as we celebrate the three month anniversary of Milton Patch. On the national level, Patch is now in nine states. Since its formation in February 2008, Patch has been steadily growing. In February 2009, there were just four sites in New Jersey, now the map is speckled with Patches from coast to coast. Part of the rapid growth has come from a $50 million investment from AOL, when the company acquired Patch in June, 2009. Over the past year and a half Patch writers have produced of 55,000 articles, specifically about the communities we cover. Milton fits right into the middle of …
