Dependable Cleaners Bridal and Wedding Gown Restoration Specialist Discusses New Role

Elton Crespo is the head of the Bridal and Wedding Gown Restoration group located at the Dependable Cleaners store in East Milton.

To many women, the most important item of clothing they'll ever wear is their wedding dress. The Dependable Cleaners Bridal and Wedding Gown Restoration group, located in the Milton store, takes the task of cleaning, preserving and restoring those special gowns very seriously. The family-owned dry cleaners recently promoted longtime employee Elton Crespo to Bridal and Restoration Specialist. Crespo began is career at Dependable Cleaners as a dry cleaner at the Braintree location in 2004, before being promoted to assistant manager of that store. Dependable Cleaners Offers 20 Percent off Drying Cleaning on Any Red Garments

This month, Dependable Cleaners is giving back to the American Heart Association through the Go Red for Women campaign.

The following information was provided by Dependable Cleaners. Red sweaters, red dresses, red jackets and even red pants.  To help raise awareness for heart disease among women, Dependable Cleaners is offering 20 percent off dry cleaning of all red items for the month of February. Customers who take advantage of this special will have the opportunity to vote in Dependable Cleaners’ customer survey for The American Heart Association as their quarterly charitable donation.  The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign is celebrating its 10th year.  The campaign aims to generate awareness about the growing rate of heart disease amongst women and the simple steps that can be taken to minimize the risk of cardiovascular issues. …

Read to Ride Program Encourages Students to Read More than 3,000 Books

Local students participated in the 14th Annual Read to Ride program this summer.

Schools may take a break over the summer months but students in Greater Boston buckled down with the books this summer.  For the 14th year, Dependable Cleaners hosted its Read to Ride program, designed to foster the love of reading and provide students ages 6-15 with the tools they need to ensure year-long learning success.   This year’s program was an unqualified success, with students reading more than 3,000 books between May 14 and August 20, 2012.  Participants submitted one entry form for each book they read and the more books read, the greater the chance of winning.  Ten lucky readers were selected throughout the summer to receive a brand new bike, donated by Farinas Bike Store in Watertown and Dave’s Bike Infirmary in Milton.  An …

Read to Ride Program Continues Despite Fire at Dependable Cleaners

Dependable Cleaners plans to continue its summer reading program after a four-alarm fire at its Quincy headquarters.

On Saturday, July 14, a four-alarm fire destroyed the Dependable Cleaners corporate headquarters at 320 Quincy Ave. in Quincy. Dependable Cleaners has several area stores, including one in East Milton. While the building was a total loss, all staff was able to evacuate the building safely.  Unfortunately, all of the entry forms submitted to date for the 2012 Read to Ride initiative were destroyed in the fire.  Despite the loss of the forms, Christa Hagearty, President of Dependable Cleaners, is committed to keeping the educational initiative moving forward.   Read to Ride is designed to encourage students to keep up the challenging momentum of school while fostering the love of reading and staying healthy during summer vacation.  Students …

Milton Resident Named Read to Ride’s First Grand-Prize Bike Winner

Milton resident and Pierce Middle School student Andrew Arcieri has been chosen as this year’s first bicycle winner in Dependable Cleaners’ 2012 Read to Ride program.

Andrew Arcieri, 13 year old seventh grader at the Pierce Middle School in Milton has been chosen as this year’s first bicycle winner in Dependable Cleaners’ 2012 Read to Ride program.  Read to Ride is a summer reading incentive, sponsored by Dependable Cleaners, that gives children, ages 6 -15, a chance to win a bike and other sporting goods for reading books during the summer months.  Andrew’s winning submission was “You Have To Stop This”, the fifth book in Pseudonymous Bosch’s “Secret Series” which is based on the sense of touch. Andrew chose this book as his submission because, as a big fan, he had already read through the first two books. The suspenseful series is about middle school children and their membership in a secret society …

On May 14, 2012, Dependable Cleaners will kick off its 14th Annual Read to Ride program designed to encourage students to keep up the challenging momentum of school while fostering the love of reading and staying healthy during summer vacation.  Beginning May 14, 2012, students ages 6-15 will have the chance to win a bike or another exciting prize for every book they read.
