Sweetheart Dance Set For March 23

Girls in grades kindergarten through fifth are invited to the Junior Girl Scout Troop 74134 fundraiser.

Next month, Junior Girl Scout Troop 74134 will host its rescheduled Sweetheart Dance at Cunningham Hall for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. The fundraiser for a troop trip to New York City will be held Saturday, March 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Girls are encouraged to bring their dad, grandpa, uncle, big brother or favorite neighbor, put their best dress on and prepare to dance. Tickets are $15 per couple and $5 per extra guest. Girl Scouts can earn a Sweetheart Dance patch by bringing a canned good to the dance. Refreshments, snacks, raffle tickets and photo booth pictures will be available for sale. For more information, contact amijoiner@gmail.com.

Milton Girl Scout Receives a Top Award

Catherine Ashur was given her Gold Award, the Girl Scout's highest honor, at a ceremony this month.

At a ceremony held at the Boxborough Holiday Inn, a Milton Girl Scout received the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. Catherine Ashur was given her Gold Award pin by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts at a ceremony attended by family, friends, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts' Board President, Peggy Stevens and CEO Ruth N. Bramson. According to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts the Gold Award, “recognizes a service project that fulfills a need within a girl's community whether local or global, creates change, and becomes ongoing. To earn the award, girls must complete the Silver Award and a minimum of 80 hours of service. The project is more than a good service project—it encompasses organizational, leadership, and …
