Glover School Actress Takes Stage at Riverside Theatre Works

Caitlin Caulfield, a Glover Elementary School student, will play “Pepper” in “Annie” this weekend.

A Glover School fifth grader will be on stage at Riverside Theatre Works, 45 Fairmount Avenue, Hyde Park, for the second weekend as “Pepper” in the theatre’s staging of Annie. Annie, which opened last weekend, is Caitlin Caulfield’s fourth production at Riverside Theatre Works. She has appeared in the Little Mermaid Jr., Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Annie Jr. and Suessical Jr. Additionally, Caitlin has performed in several Glover Musical Revues and is a member of the Boston City Singers and Company R. She also participates in jazz, tap and hip hop dance classes. Performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, and Saturday, December 8, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 9. Glover Playground Repairs Total $50,000 After July Arson

The potion of the Glover Elementary School playground that was destroyed by vandals last month will be replaced in October.

Repairs to the vandalized playground at Glover Elementary School will not begin until after at least the first month of school and will cost just under $50,000 to complete. Unknown vandals targeted the back playground at Glover on July 10, using a hair product to start a large fire. At the time of the fire, school officials weren’t sure if any of the equipment could be salvaged. “We are going to repair the portion that was damaged,” said Consolidated Facilities Director Bill Ritchie. About three weeks ago the damaged portion of the playground was removed, according to Ritchie. The new parts have been ordered, but won’t arrive for a few more weeks.
