Milton Teams Earn MIAA Tournament Bids

Hockey and basketball teams from Milton High School and Fontbonne Academy will participate in the MIAA tournaments that begin this week.

Fonbonne Academy and Milton High Square off in Girls Hockey The girls hockey teams from Fontbonne Academy and Milton High School will face off in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Tournament on Tuesday, February 26. Fontbonne Academy is the 14th seed, while Milton High earned a 19th seed in the tournament. The game will be held at Shea Rink, 651 Willard Street, Quincy, at 4 p.m. The winner of this contest will play third-seeded Wellesley. Milton High Hockey Players Earn Sportsmanship Awards

Milton High School hockey players Haley Dutton and Terrence Walsh were recently awarded the Hobey Baker Sportsmanship award.

Two Milton High School hockey-playing seniors were recently awarded the Hobey Baker Sportsmanship award during a ceremony held at the TD Garden. The award, which recognizes “strength of character both on and off the ice,” was given to Haley Dutton and Terrence Walsh at The Sports Museum inside the TD Garden on April 9th. The pair were chosen for the award based on the criteria that they must contribute to the integrity of the team and display outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Scholastic achievement and sportsmanship were also considerations. Hobey Baker, who captained Princeton's hockey and football teams in the early part of the 20th century, is a charter member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, a member of the …

The Milton High boys hockey team just finished an impressive season. The Wildcats secured solid wins throughout the regular season and tournament to earn the program’s first appearance in the MIAA Division 1 championship games. Though Burlington High School defeated Milton 6-2 on Sunday night at the TD Garden in Boston, the Wildcats had a year to remember. In that spirit, let’s commemorate the hockey team’s run with photos and videos from the 2012 season. We’ll get you started with a few photos from the pep rally, around town and at the championship game. Feel free to upload any Wildcats’ material from the beginning of the season through Sunday night’s tilt with the Red Devils.

Milton High Boys Hockey Plans Fundraisers at Ulin Rink

The Second Annual Skate with the Wildcats and Second Annual Wildcats Mini-Camp are set for December.

The Milton High School boys hockey team has a pair of fundraisers planned in the coming weeks that will help the team and fit perfectly into the holiday season.  On Sunday, December 18, the team will host the Second Annual Skate with the Wildcats from 1 to 3 p.m. at Ulin Rink. Not only will the team be on the ice, but last year they were joined by the Wildcats mascot and Santa Claus. Donations for the event, which supports MHS hockey, are $10. All ages are welcome, but participants are asked not to bring hockey sticks. After Christmas, but still during holiday vacation, the team will host the Second Annual Wildcats Mini-Camp on Wednesday, December 28, and Friday, December 30.
