A group of Boston Minuteman Council Scouts, including Milton residents, chopped wood and delivered supplies to the New Jersey shore last weekend.
A group of over 75 Boston Minuteman Council Scouts, including three people from Milton, departed from the Camp Sayre in the Blue Hills on Friday, November 30, for a relief mission to New Jersey. The group brought a box truck filled with construction and cleaning supplies to Tuckerton, New Jersey. They helped clear debris and chop wood at Citti Scout Reservation, which was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The Milton residents who made the trip are Dr. Dan Melville, an adult volunteer for Milton Troop 3, Blair Bowden from Troop 5 in Milton, and Artie Melville, a Scout from Milton Troop 3 who is college junior. While in New Jersey, the volunteers chopped more than 12 cords of wood and delivered supplies to residents in Tuckerton.
