Animal Control Officer Advises Residents to Leave Pets Home This Weekend

While the 350th Anniversary Big Event Weekend will be fun for humans, it may not be the best place for dogs.

While the 350th Anniversary Celebration might seem like a good place to bring your dog, the Milton Animal Control Officer is advising residents to leave their pets at home from the festivities, especially Friday night’s fireworks. “Please remember that your dog's hearing is extremely sensitive,” said ACO Nancy Bersani. “Leave your dogs home for the fireworks and other celebrations.” Bersani pointed out that the loud noises, crowded quarters, strange people and new scents may cause canines to panic. “Your dog will be much happier in a quiet room with a stuffed kong or familiar toy or treat while you enjoy the festivities,” said Bersani.
