Kenneth R. Feinberg, Esq., the administrator of the One Fund Boston, addressed the Curry College class of 2013 on Sunday, May 19.
Curry College held its commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 19. Kenneth R. Feinberg, Esq., the administrator of the One Fund Boston, was the graduation speaker and recipient of an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Prior to working with the One Fund, a charitable foundation that benefits victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, Feinberg served most notably as the Special Master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. Sean Jackman, 24, is expected to be arraigned Monday at Boston Medical Center, where he is hospitalized with injuries received in an early Saturday morning crash in Canton.
A Stoughton man who police say was driving the car involved in an early Saturday morning crash on Bolivar Street in Canton that killed a Curry College student is facing several charges, including motor vehicle homicide, wrote Norfolk County District Attorney's Office spokesman David Traub in a Sunday afternoon email to the media. Sean Jackman, 24, has also been charged with operating under the influence, speeding and marked lanes violations, Traub wrote. He is expected to be arraigned Monday morning at Boston Medical Center, where he is hospitalized with injuries received in the crash. A Curry College nursing student was killed in a Saturday morning crash on Bolivar Street in Canton. The person has been identified as 20-year-old Evan Bard by Curry College, where she was a junior studying nursing. The Canton Police Department has refused to release any information about the crash, but CBS Boston reported the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office says Bard was a passenger in a car that slammed into a wall and tree shortly after midnight. Kennneth R. Feinberg To Address Curry College Class of 2013.
Kenneth R. Feinberg will be the Commencement Speaker at Curry College Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 19. Feinberg, an attorney, is the administrator of the One Fund Boston, a nonprofit to raise money for victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings. He is also chairman of the board of the John F. See why the probable cause hearing got pushed back until Aug. 29.
An Arlington man and two from Malden charged with raping a Curry College student in January had their court proceedings postponed Friday until Aug. 29, according to a report in the Currier Times, the school’s student newspaper. Justin O. Castor, then 19, of Arlington, Kensley Metellus, 19, of Malden, and Shakarus D. Semexant, 20, of Malden, appeared in Quincy District Court for a probable cause hearing. The hearing was delayed, however, after the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office asked for more time to review the evidence, which included two used condoms, according to the report. Dr. Les Muray, Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Curry college, awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for study in his native Hungary during the spring of 2014.
Muray will be researching the influence of French philosopher Henri Bergson on Mihaly Babits and Zsigmond Moricz, two major figures in early 20th century Hungarian literature, whose work anticipated contemporary environmental ethics. While at Curry College, Muray has taught about Bergson's life and work as part of his "Philosophies of Creativity and Process" class. Muray will be hosted by the Institute of Philosophy at Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest, where his father, Rev. Dr. Remus F. Muray, took his second doctorate, and wrote his dissertation on Bergson. Muray had previously applied for the Scholarship in 1996, 1997, and 1998. On Wed. an unidentified male telephone caller threatened to "shoot everyone," after asking to speak with the President of the United States.
Curry College Department of Public Safety is working with the Milton Police Department to investigate a call made to the Admission Office Wed. afternoon, where an unidentified male caller threatened to "shoot everyone," after learning that he dialed a wrong number, according to myfoxboston.com. Security has been increased on campus, as a result of the call.

A group of video gaming experts will appear at Curry College tonight for the "What’s Next for Video Gaming?" panel discussion. The event is part of the lead up to Boston's PAX East this weekend.
"What’s Next for Video Gaming?" will be held Wednesday, March 20 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Parents’ Lounge of Curry College's Milton campus. The panelists are expected to discuss, "video games and violence, women in the video gaming industry, the trends for future game development and the historical and cultural impact of gaming on society." Milton Police are investigating an armed robbery early Thursday morning.
Just after 1 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, Milton Police were dispatched to Curry College after a student reported he was robbed at gunpoint on Dana Avenue. According to Deputy Chief Charles Paris, two students were walking back to campus from the Hyde Park Tedeschi’s when a newer model, two-door, black Honda drove past them, then backed up. The two male students said a white man got out of the vehicle, showed them a silver handgun and demanded all of one of the students belongings. The victim was robbed of a backpack, laptop, cell phone and wallet. The suspect is described as 5’10” and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black hoodie and blue jeans.
