Seniors helped Deborah Trickett from Milton-based Captured Garden plant a vegetable garden at the Council on Aging, Wednesday.
Plant Something MA set out to have a planting project take place in every city and town in the commonwealth on Wednesday, May 15. A group participated at the Milton Council on Aging as they planted a vegetable garden behind the Senior Center. Plant Something MA was a collaboration between the Massachusetts Flower Growers Association and the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association. Deborah Trickett, Milton resident and owner of Captured Garden, a garden design company that specializes in container gardens, was asked by the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association to organize an event in Milton. Clare Garland from Ashmont Grill will present a dessert demonstration and tasting at the annual meeting of the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
The Friends of the Milton Public Library annual meeting, which is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m., will feature a special tasty addition this year. Clare Garland, the pastry chef at the Ashmont Grill, will hold a dessert demonstration and tasting at the meeting this weekend. The meeting will take place in the library's Keys Community Room. The public is invited to the meeting, but reservations are required. Call 617-698-8003 or visit the events page on miltonlibrary.org to reserve a seat. Garland, a Newberry College graduate, has worked at Ashmont Grill for the past seven years.

Members of the Milton High School rugby team discuss the school's young program and the international connection between players.
After rugby games at Milton High School, it's common to see players in both color uniforms eating sandwiches together. This act of camaraderie is part of the bond rugby players all around the world have with one another. "We're enemies on the field and friends off the field," said MHS rugby player Neiko Fortes. While the team is friends with their opponents, the Milton players are also very close. A group of about 16 players meet up occasionally for team dinners; wings at Suffolk Grille are a popular meal. Several Milton players, including Fortes, senior captain Kennedy and junior captain Tim O'Connor, also play for the Boston Rugby Club.
